Activity

Online songcamp 24-25 June 2025

The online camp took place on the 24 and 25 June 2025. A two-day international songwriting experience designed to spark cross-border collaboration, creative networking, and connections between songwriters, producers, and publishers. The online camp was about building global relationships and laying the groundwork for future, more targeted joint projects. Participants were grouped into small creative teams, working across time zones with peers from diverse backgrounds.

The open call received 48 applications which were reviewed by a selection committee with 15 applications being selected for the online song camp.

The collaborative nature of the online music camp was overwhelmingly seen as a positive, inspiring, and creatively fulfilling experience. Participants appreciated the inclusive and international nature of the initiative and found value in both the music created and the connections formed. While feedback was largely positive, suggestions for improved structure and facilitation—such as clearer timelines and more proactive support for collaboration—can enhance the experience in future editions.

The four day camp promoted artistic collaboration, cultural exchange, and professional development within Europe’s independent music sector.

Over six professional songwriting briefs from leading industry partners including Merrystar Management, Fortiche Productions, Prodigious, and Ubisoft, participants created 48 original songs. The sessions produced outstanding music, encouraged lasting creative relationships, and expanded international professional networks.

The Songcamp demonstrated strong alignment with EU cultural and creative sector objectives by facilitating international collaboration, strengthening relationships between European and global creatives, and producing professional quality work that is ready for both commercial and artistic use.
