Friends and colleagues, we write to you in these difficult times to offer moral support and to say we are reviewing how we can be of any practical support to you, members of the indie music publishing community globally during these months. We are very aware of the difficulties and disruption this will cause to all of us and the wider music and creative industry around the world.
The economic and social consequences of cancellations and the down turn of economies everywhere will have a negative effect on the music landscape and will in particular affect many small businesses and self-employed composers and artists. In due course we will be working with our counterpart organisations to speak with governments to support the creative community so that the burden caused by this radical interruption to our business can be somewhat alleviated.
Please do not hesitate to contact us for any support or information that we can possibly assist you with. We would love to hear if you have any suggestions as to how we might best assist; coordination of the worldwide plethora of information linked to our sector; update sharing; putting you in touch with each other centrally; a series of webinars; info from your countries, etc.
We hope that you, your staff, your colleagues, and families stay safe and we wish you all the very best. We hope for a return to normality as soon as possible and, in the meantime, IMPF services will continue as normal and we will review other mechanisms for providing linking and meeting opportunities and will be in touch.
Clarity, resilience, responsibility and our shared sense of support amongst the indie community will all help.
Annette Barrett and Pierre Mossiat
