“Beutara is building the future of music publishing in Africa by structuring the market, empowering creators, and connecting the continent to the global music economy.”
Beutara is a French-registered company with operational expansion through Beutara Cameroon in Central Africa and a regional office in Dakar, Senegal. Approaching four years of legal existence in June 2026, Beutara is an independent music publisher with strong ambitions for growth across Africa while actively targeting international markets. The company is also expanding its activities into digital distribution, rights management, and platform representation across the continent.
Through an integrated approach, Beutara supports creators, independent African publishers, and music professionals in structuring, promoting, and monetizing their works at both local and international levels. Its publishing catalog features a diverse range of artists, including Emilio Bissaya, Valdez Mbang, Jay Lou Avah, Natascha Bizo, Julia Young, Senegalese artist Mika, Congolese artist MBN, as well as Peckey Power, Princess Léo, and Sanzy Viany.
To strengthen its value proposition, Beutara aims to expand opportunities for catalog placement across film, television, advertising, trailers, video games, and other media, while also exploring catalog acquisitions from selected artists and songwriters. This strategic vision is designed to:
• Expand its business activities
• Increase the visibility of its catalog
• Develop high-level international partnerships
Operating within a context of limited financial resources and an under-structured African music publishing market, Beutara launched in 2025 the development of an African hub aimed at building a large-scale continental catalog. This initiative is intended to enhance its global competitiveness and market positioning. By facilitating international catalog sales and synchronization opportunities, Beutara seeks to unlock new financing channels—traditionally difficult to access—while enabling African creators to benefit from significant capital flows, secure the value of their works, and diversify revenue streams.
At a pan-African level, and based on strong field insights, Beutara aims to bring together African creators—many of whom are self-produced, self-published, and unsigned—within a unified platform. This platform will allow creators based in cities such as Dakar, Rabat, or Abidjan to gain stronger international representation. Its core objective is to provide African publishing professionals and creators with access to the global music publishing market—often complex and difficult to enter—while ensuring transparent and direct access to royalties generated from digital platforms.
With the launch of the first edition of the African Music Publishing Summit (SAEM)—a continental platform dedicated to structuring the African music publishing market—Beutara has defined key missions, including:
• Bringing together African music publishers
• Structuring the music publishing industry across Africa
• Promoting fair compensation for creators
• Supporting the professionalization of industry stakeholders
• Connecting Africa to international markets
• Facilitating revenue generation for creators
• Acting as a bridge between Africa and the global music publishing industry
