IMPF application to become a stakeholder of the Observatory

Dear Mr Mossiat,

Thank you for your letter of 5 November in which you confirm the interest of the Independent Music Publishers International Forum (IMPF) to become a representative association in the European Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights.

It  is  our  clear  ambition  to  ensure  the  Observatory  continues  to  press  forward  in  the knowledg_e  of  IP  rights  and  their  protection,  thus  becoming  a  practical  instrument  for change. To achieve this aim it will be necessary for public authorities, private stakeholders and representatives of civil society to work together on tangible projects that will help to protect IP and underline its importance in Europe. In this we believe that IMPF will have a key role to play and we look forward to working with you to achieve joint successes in such an important area for government, business, consumer·s and society in general.

In order to follow the work of the Observatory, you are invited to attend the specific meetings that are organised ‘for this purpose. The next event which brings the Observatory stakeholders together will be the working group meetings taking place on 27 and 28 November in Brussels. You are kindly invited to indicate the working group(s)  you would like to take part in. We currently have the following groups in place: IP in the Digital World, Enforcement, Economics and Statistics, and Public Awareness. You can find more information on this as well as summaries of all the past meetings on the About us page of our website:

Thank you once again for your interest in working with us. I look forward to seeing you at future meetings and to your continued support in the work of the Observatory.
